More Overcast Oding

I woke up yesterday and decided to go oding at Papago Park and the Phoenix Zoo here in Maricopa County.  It was overcast and I hoped that the conditions would sun up so more variety of species would be present.  Nope.  I had to deal with overcast weather the entire time.  BUT, I still had fun and I still managed to pull out a few highlights.  At Papago and the Phoenix Zoo I was searching primarily for Double-striped Bluet and Great Pondhawk without any luck.  Here are some of the highlights:

Blue-ringed Dancer

Rambur's Forktail

Dusky Dancer (female-dozens present around pond vegetation)

Mexican Amberwing

Roseate Skimmer-female

Black Setwing-immature male

Western Pondhawk

Red Saddlebags

Common Green Darner

Red-tailed Pennant

Black Saddlebags

After the Zoo and Papago Park, I saw that a flood retention field by my house was flooded.  I decided to stop and look for the few minutes I had and I saw that Gliders were everywhere.  There were a few Wandering Gliders present, but Spot-winged Gliders were abundant.  It was the first time that I've been able to see a Spot-winged Glider well, yet alone photograph one!
