A Few New Odes at Rio Salado

This morning I went to the Rio Salado Restoration Area in downtown Phoenix, a place with constructed wetlands as well as riparian along the Salt River that is productive for oding.  Sadly, I didn't get there until 8 A.M. and the heat was almost unbearable at times this morning before I finally left at 10 A.M.  The time was certainly worthwhile though.  Widow Skimmers were abundant over the ponds at Rio Salado and I got to see two ode lifers that I've been wanting to see, Citrine Forktail and Roseate Skimmer.  Both showed up in numbers for me and they alone made the drive to Rio Salado worthwhile.

Roseate Skimmer

Citrine Forktail

Rambur's Forktail

Red-tailed Pennant

Western Pondhawk

Blue Dasher

Flame Skimmer

I also got a new lep, which was this White Checkered-Skipper.
